Roth Bar & Grill opened in 2014 as an integral part of Hauser & Wirth Somerset, and was also the first Artfarm location. Founded by Iwan and Manuela Wirth, Artfarm believes that the most sustainable creative developments weave together art, community, learning, people and place.
We are passionate about honest, seasonal food and work closely with local farmers, gamekeepers and gardeners, to use the freshest British produce with a focus on ethical sourcing and sustainability.

KITCHEN
The open kitchen has a wood-fired grill and spit, where beef and lamb from Durslade Farm, whose acres surround Roth Bar & Grill and vegetables and herbs from the neighbouring Walled Garden at Roundhill Grange are cooked.
Outside, you will find huge round firepits created by Bjorn and Oddor Roth. These handsome structures effortlessly combine form and function and are fired up throughout the year during events and special occasions.

ROTH BAR
This specially commissioned site-specific bar, showcases a range of drinks created by makers from the local area. Created by long-term friends and artists, Björn and Oddur Roth, the son and grandson of artist Dieter Roth, the bar is inspired by the history of Durslade Farm and uses a mix of agricultural and found objects.
Our list showcases a variety of local drink producers, as well as our own range of spirits.
Enjoy our small batch “Lop & Top” Gin created using excess food – apple peel, peach stones, parsley stalks and more from our kitchen, or try the House Negroni or Espresso Martini.

SALT ROOM
Meat from Durslade Farm is dry-aged in our purpose-built Salt Room, which is lined with over 500 hand-cut Himalayan salt bricks, highly valued for their purity. The traditional process allows the meat to tenderise through naturally occurring enzymes, intensifying in flavour as the Himalayan salt draws moisture from the air, allowing the water in the meat to evaporate.

DURSLADE FARM
Durslade is a working farm and the livestock born and bred there are served at Roth Bar & Grill. Our livestock are Herefords, Aberdeen Angus and Wagyu cattle and Lleyn, Mule and Exlana sheep, all of which are reared with care, love and respect.
Visit our butcher’s counter at Farm Shop next door to Roth Bar & Grill where you will find meat from our farm alongside other carefully chosen suppliers. Produce is also available online.

WALLED GARDEN
Our walled garden is located at the stunning Roundhill Grange, just five minutes from the restaurant. The two acres of garden are looked after by our kitchen gardener, who uses age old techniques and tools to maintain the land. Hazel is coppiced from the woodlands and used as a support for heritage varieties of peas and beans. Old espalier apples and pears thrive on the sun-drenched walls and the beds are filled with seasonal bounty from broad beans and peas, to beetroot and spinach. We continue to grow a wide range of culinary herbs and edible flowers, all of which exist in harmony with the surroundings.

FARMERS & GROWERS
We’re so proud to work with and champion many local farmers and growers who are experts in their field and, luckily for us, situated just a short journey away from the restaurant.
